On Friday the 13th, five friends and I headed from St. Louis, Missouri to Alton, Illinois to enjoy a little Halloween season entertainment. We started our journey at a cozy little local spot known as Morrison’s Irish Pub. It’s a tiny little restaurant on a quaint street corner in downtown Alton. We dined on Irish fare made by ingredients imported directly from Ireland. It was lovely.
Then we headed over to the Mineral Springs Hotel for a Late Night Haunted History Walking Tour presented by Alton Hauntings. According to the company, Alton is “One of the Most Haunted Small Towns in America!”
We spent over three full hours walking the streets of historic downtown Alton. We heard countless stories about its history, many of which revealed the sources of Alton’s many haunted spaces. While it was spooky, it was mostly educational, and we quite enjoyed it. 😊
